Victory Day is a sacred holiday in the former Soviet Union, it is a holiday that is celebrated with tears. Presiding over the military parade is Minister of Defense of the USSR, Marshal of the Soviet Union; Sergei Sokolov. Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, General of the Army; Pyotr Lushev (this would be his last parade as commander of the MMD).
